Hi all my name is LaShae. I'm a Southern girl born and breed - a true Georgia Peach if you will. I still live in the not so little town I grew up in - although I did live in the big city of Atlanta for almost 15 years.
I stopped eating pork in 1995 and beef in 1998. I've been pescovolactetarian since 2001, when a well informed nurse practitioner suspected symptoms I'd been dealing with for almost 10 years might be SLE - Systemic lupus eurythematosis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemic_l ... thematosus.
While the joint pains and other associated symptoms eased quite dramatically my skin has been another question entirely. I also gained way too much weight because I didn't look for information nutritional information - among other reasons. I just removed certain foods from my diet and replaced them with less than healthy choices. My nutritional learning has been pretty sporadic.
I've never been strict about not eating chicken or turkey but in the last 6 months or so I've had 3 Lupus flairs and it's time to do this right and become completely vegetarian (possibly vegan).
This time I want to be much more methodical about the process.
I look forward to learning and sharing.
